President
The President’s primary responsibility is to ensure the Management Committee carries out its governance role in an efficient manner, and oversees the proper functioning of an informed Committee.
Duties:
- Encourage an active Committee, which shares the responsibility.
- Be familiar with the Constitution of the organisation
- Act as a facilitator for organisation activities
- Plan and budget for the clubs’ future.
- Ensure the group is fulfilling all its responsibilities.
- Prepare a report for monthly meetings and a written report for the Annual General Meeting.
- Make sure regular Committee meetings are held in accordance with the requirements as specified in the Constitution.
- Draw up an agenda, prioritise items and set time limits if necessary.
- Lead the meeting through the agenda, keeping discussion relevant, decision making clear and encouraging broad participation.
- Act as a spokesperson for POSAA and represent POSAA to outside parties.
- Sign documents, contracts and agreements on behalf of POSAA.
- Stay in touch with day-to-day happenings through contact with the Management Committee members and members of POSAA.
- Seek advice from the Management Committee on issues relevant to their portfolios.
- Attend all scheduled Committee meetings or give maximum notice possible if unable to attend.
- Chair Annual General Meeting.
- Encourage active State Delegates
- Manage and encourage active sub committees
Vice President
The Vice President’s primary role is to assist the President and to take on the roles and responsibilities of the President in their absence.
Duties:
- Oversee the functions of the Executive Officer, in collaboration with the President.
- Assist the President when requested.
- Act as a spokesperson for POSAA, when requested, and represent POSAA to outside parties.
- Perform the duties of the President in their absence.
